What is the name of your state? New York I have a 7 year old daughter from a previous relationship her father isn't involved in her life at all.My daughter doesn't even know him.I have sole custody of her and her father just abdandoned her. He has moved on with his life, new family, and plans to move out of state soon. He owes me $10,000.00 in back cs.I asked him to terminate his parental rights so my husband can adopt her.He said he would but we our unsure of what to do.We have called numerous people trying to get help in this matter.Can someone please help.What do we need to do in order for he to give up his rights for my husband to adopt her?What is the name of your state?

contact the local domestic relations court wher eyou live. Ask them for forms regarding termination of parental rights. Or hire an attorney. Or write up a petition stating that you would like to terminate your child's father's paternal rights and he is in complete agreement and your new spouse wants to adopt. . File it with the clerk. request a court date. Both of you attend court with your new spouse who wants to adopt.

Hire an attorney. You don't want to make mistakes with an adoption.
