I have 2 adult children (20 & 23) living at home. Neither contributes to the financial or social wellbeing of the household. Both refuse to vacate even though they have been asked to on several occasions. Is there any legal method that can be used to force them out?

My response:

Yes. They are now in a landlord / tenant situation with you. Tell them the rent in now $500.00 per month, each - - due immediately. Then, when either of them fail to pay you, give them both a 3-day "Notice to Pay Rent or Quit". When they fail to pay the amount of rent you want, file an "Unlawful Detainer" action against them.

When they lose that case, the Sheriff will come to the house, take them both by the scruff of the neck, and lead them both to the sidewalk - - with only the clothes on their back.
