What is the name of your state (only U.S. law) Utah
Life Insurance Benefits.
Can Designation Beneficiary be challenged by an adverse claim in the state of Utah?

Scenario: Insured purchased whole life policy prior marriage naming business partner/friend as the beneficiary. Insurance got married.. he then changed beneficiary to wife. a year later they had a child. unfortunately relationship changed almost to a point of divorse but never actually happened. 3 Months prior to Insured death (Suicide) he officially changed the designated beneficiary to his Business Partner/Friend and his brother.

Wife is contesting the change of beneficiaries to the insurance company and making an adverse claim. Yet during the time of the designated beneficiaries change she was informed of the change by the insurance agent and she herself changed her designation of beneficiary on her own life insurance policy with the same insurance company.

Does she have a chance to reverse this? She is claiming a advese claim on her behalf and the minor child.

Wife likely had to sign off on the change...

I don't think it was a requirement for the wife to sign off on the change since she was able to change her's without him signing off on the change.
What I do know is despite the cause of death, when he did make the change it was in his office, and life insurance agent was there along with the my friend's sister and another friend as witnesses for the beneficiary change.
