I brought a home last year next to a vacant rat infested lot (vacant for at least 80 years) knowing that the owner of 15+ years had extended his fence a couple of feet and poured cemement down. Now the lot has been sold an independent contractor. My deed states that the previous owner put up that fence 15 years ago. How long does it take to claim adverse possession in the Bronx or New York city.

Adverse possesion is a State law and not a City one. In addition, there are various factors that must be met to qualify for adverse possession and not just the passage of time.
