What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? california
i signed a contract to advertise in a magazzine last may 2011 at a trade show, i understood that that would be used if we decided to participate at the trade show this year , we are not but the advertising company still wants $1300.00 weather we advertise or not.
i tried to explain that it would be of no use to us as we were not attending the show but they just dont care.there are a couple of issues, the advertising deadline was the 28th of january, but they now have extended it , but i was not notified, the contract was made for company A which has now ceased operating as its been taken over by company B, the contract states that its not transferable??????the company just send us an email saying we will see you in court?????they have not offered any alternatives or suggested any possible outcomes apart from court.i actually dont even remember signing this , is it possible that the have just scanned my signature on a new page????
