Recently my 10 yr. old son was physically attacked by his music teacher.
Following the protocol of our ISD we filed complaints and also filed with the police dept.
After "investigation" by the admin. Offices of our ISD they propose:
The teacher suspension and some training.
That our son not go to music classes, but work in the library on music days.
The police dept. awaits our decision to file an assault charge.
For us, our son's well being is priority, where the district seems to be the teacher’s contract and their reputation.
It's hard to believe that our son should have to make concessions under these circumstances.
We dread filing the charge and the court involvement because of the emotions repercussions on our son (already surfacing), BUT also know that her mere presence at the school can be damaging for him. Also...that she is allowed to remain would send a terrible message to him that because she is an adult she can get away with that type behavior.
ANY ADVICE would be appreciated.
