My girlfriend is a US Citizen and I am trying to find a way to be with her. I live in Ireland and am waiting for my divorce to come through which will take another couple of years as the laws here are a bit strange. Her dad has offered me a position working in his company and is willing to sponsor me to go work for him. Can anybody tell me about sponsorship, what forms do I need, what is the best way to go about it, is it better to go through an immigration attorney and what costs are involved. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have a degree and experience in a specialized skill? ie, he can not sponsor you to work in his shop or pumping gas etc..

No, I don't have a degree but I have considerable experience in Materials Management, all aspects of Accounts and Administration. He wants me to go and work for him in the capacity of Office Manager, something he needs for his business. As there is a lot of Administration work in the business as well as purchasing etc and it is something that I have been doing for years he feels that I would be the right person for the job. Is there any way that we can make this happen?

No.. if you do not have a degree then you need at least 12 years straight experience in a highly skilled and in demand field of work.
