advice needed

i have had a problem with a small town community board in the state of pa. on this board me and my family have been lied about they have writen our names and told down right lies, these lies were very hurtful to me and my family we can prove who wrote this [they even went as far as to print their names] and we can prove that the lies are false. we don't know much about the laws for the interent so can some one tell us if we have a right to sue

Yes you can sue. The libel and slander laws are the same on the internet and off.

ok thank you that is what we are planning to do the next guestion is i live in n.c. now but my family lives in pa and the people that wrote the lies are living in pa should we go back to pa courts or can we do from where i live

You can certainly file where you are but in all likelihood venue will be changed and it may go to PA.

You have personal jurisdiction and subject matter jurisdiction.

If you live in State A and others live in State B, the event happened in State B, did Defendant had sufficient contact with STate A to be haled into court there? If not, go to State B and file there. Then, because you are residents of different states, it would go to federal court within PA
