I got a Financial Mgmt Service (FMS) notice in 2004 telling me that my tax return was intercepted a few years ago. I know what you are going to say but this issue is being contested via Administrative Hearing. On the FMS notice, its clearly says what agency is causing the lien (NC). However, (NC) insists they are not the cause of the lien and not causing any intercepts.

I got a FMS notice in 2007 again telling me that my tax return was being intercepted again even though (NC) insists they are not causing the lien. Called the IRS, basically told me that they can't provide any information other than a lien exists on my tax file. I contact the FMS and they tell me to contact the State agency listed on the notice. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the lien information that was submitted to the IRS because I'm getting the run around from the state agency. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Contact the Taxpayer's Advocate on this one. That is the kind of thing that they are there to help with.
