What is the name of your state? VA
My wife and I are renting an apartment temporarily (short term lease). We came home the other night and noticed that the carpeting was wet in 2 very large areas in 2 different rooms (they are on opposide sides of the same wall.
Apparently this leak was from an A/C Condensor unit outside the apartment in a storage room controlled by the Landlord.
From the looks of the leak under the carpeting, this leak has been going on for several weeks and seeped out to an area where it was finally noticed. We had some furniture that was damaged and was wondering do you have to go through our renter's insurance or do we file a claim with the landlord since the leak was caused by their unit.
thanks in advance...
