Hello.

I was recently made aware that a colleague consulted one of our appointed sexual harrassment counselors regarding concerns the colleague had that I had sexually harrassed her. She had another colleague, who is not involved in our Sexual Harrassment Grievance process present in a consulting capacity during this meeting. She has not filed a claim.

I am convinced, as is my supervisor and our director, that facts were embellished in this discussion. My concern is regarding the inclusion of an additional colleague, who was not a legitimate authority in our process, and the sharing of information that led this unofficial colleague to advise there was an actionable claim for sexual harrassment.

I am curious if this constitutes slander. If it does, would filing suit be construed as a retaliatory action if there was no claim filed?

I appreciate your help. Take care.
