What is the name of your state? Iowa

I am looking at a townhouse community that has maximum income qualifications in place. At the moment I meet these requirements. However, I am currently on the job hunt. When it comes down to it, I will be signing the lease a few weeks before I would start a new position. What would happen if I find a position that exceeds the income qualifications? Will it not matter because the lease was signed while I met qualifications, or should I try to make sure whatever job I accept is still under the max amount?

I would just forget about it and look at other communities, but nice pet-friendly housing is few and far between in the area.

What is your legal question for us?

I'm assuming I'll be signing a contract saying I make under the maximum amount. What will happen if I later on make more than that.

You'll get taken to a pit and stoned to death. :D
How the hell are we supposed to know!!! Ask THEM what will happen.

More than likely you will have periodic reviews and if they determine that with a income increase the amount of rent you pay will have to increase then thats what they will do. at some point if you exceed a income cap they may have you pay market rent. but again you need to talk to the programs office to learn what will happen.

Is this government assisted housing?
(What other type of rental community has an income cap? I prefer the old income minimum, myself.)
