when the estate has gone to court for the final time shouldnt the people named in the will get a letter of accounting (what was paid out ) and whats left there are just 5 siblings named in the will and supposely its closed but we never received anything from anyone.we dont even know what we have coming from my mothers estate a attorney did the estate. california

You haven't made it clear exactly whether this estate is still open or closed.

If it is closed or recently closed, you can go to the county courthouse to examine the probate file, which should contain some information about how the estate was distributed and a general idea of exactly who got what.

It is possible that the estate had large debts and taxes, etc. to pay and therefore there may not have been enough cash left to distribute to heirs after the bills were paid.

The executor is not obligated to send a letter or accounting report to the heirs, but it would be nice if he/she did so. If you still have some questions about the estate after you look at the file, you can call or write to the attorney/estate executor for more information.
