What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
I play in an afternoon golf league at a premier golf course and have been taking my 11 year old son with me since he was 9 years old. Just recently, I have been signing my son up and letting him play every once in a while. Last week, I signed him up, but he was low on the sign up list and they bumped him from playing. There is a cutoff for the game and he was one player over the cutoff number and was put first on a waiting list. It turned out, a couple of players dropped out of the event, so he should have been next to play, but the golf course jumped over him on the list and put older players in the event and my son didn’t get to play.
That being said, I called in very early for this weeks event and put both of our names on the list and made sure we weren’t close to the cutoff number. My son and I ended up being 20 players away from the cutoff number. I just received a phone call from the person that runs the event and was informed that a new rule was put into effect and that players must be 18 years old to play. This person also told me that my son couldn’t even come out and watch us play; my son had been coming to watch for over 2 years.
I was just curious if this is some kind of discrimination, because my son is devastated with this new rule.
