Question for a friend- Does anyone know the age where a minor child can make her statements in court she is 7 and prefers to live with dad, because mom treats her like she is 4. Buys her 1 Christmas presnts fixes her glasess with JB weld, when it cost 10.00 to fix them. Child would much rather live with her 3 other 1/2 siblings that are closer that her 1/2 bratty 3 year old spoiled brat sister that crys wolf and mommy comes running.

Children don't get to choose.

And I am pretty much correct in saying that a 7 yr old probably will not even be heard by a judge. If your looking at 14, 15, and on yeah the judge may hear what the minor says but does not mean they will rule on it the way the child wants.

The only advice is to tell your friend if he or she wants to have the child with him/her, they need to petition the court for a modification of custody, but be prepared to show that there is a major change of circumstances to warrent this, or they will get thrown out on their butt.

Sorry, best of luck

A 7 yo's words will carry no weight in court. Around 12, a judge *may* decide to listen to her, depending on her maturity. Fixing glasses with JB Weld and having a spoiled 3 yo doesn't an unfit parent make, however.
