What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Minnesota
Hello, I had my air ducts cleaned 2 weeks ago by a well-known company. I noticed that the plastic films they used over the vents kept blowing off, and the worker was messing around with my thermostat during the process (I believe he left the air conditioner on during the first 2 hours). Afterward, I found dark gray dust throughout the home, as well as pieces of insulation and gravel. The air also smelled musty, like old dust, and my family had itching and burning eyes. The company is refusing to admit any fault. I had a 2nd company come in, and they believe the first company blew dust all over my house, as well as did not clean parts of the system - the blower motor and return. I will now have to have my ducts cleaned a 2nd time and the air scrubbed.
How would I recover losses? Would I sue them in small claims court, or get an attorney? What kind of damages could I sue for? Thank you.
