In CA - Paid cash for a 2000 coupe in Feb. 2 wks later, had accident trying to avoid being cut off in traffic, steering wheel locked. Car fixed for 3 wks. June 2nd, SRS light comes on and stays lit for 1 wk. Mfr. chks out and gives back car on June 9. 1 1/2 wk. later, trying to avoid being cut off in traffic, steering wheel locks again. Hit freeway embankment. Pssgr airbag deploys, driver bag does not, find out from mechanic that neither bag was supposed to deploy (especially not separately) and steering should not lock. I have whiplash and cut on throat from seatbelt. Mfr. admits SRS is faulty but is trying to fix again & give back, I feel unsafe driving car. Insurance co. is no help. Can I get a new car or money back, do I have a case against mfr. Help! Pls. advise.
