I accidentally tripped my neghbor's panic fire alarm (klutzyness on my part). However, he had no idea how to turn it off, and the marshall came. He's now threatening to sue me for the false alarm fine. Do I have a leg to stand on? Or was he negligent by not knowing how to turn off his alarm??? The state is TX.

Thanks to anyone!!
