What is the name of your state? New Jersey

I'm just wondering, is it ok for someone to call your acquaintances, neighbors, employers business relationships, and others for the sole purpose of giving adverse information on you?

Whether you did it or not?

Thank you.

Well. That would depend on weather the information was true or false. If the information that was given was true, you have no libel/ defamation type claim against the person.
I would wonder though, what was the person's motives or intentions for disclosing damaging information? On the other hand, if what was told to the other people (employer, friends etc) was false, then you may have a defamation/libel type claim. Even if you did, unless you are wealthy it isn't worth pursuing. a large percentage of cases filed never make it to the courtroom. It takes money to sue, especially for libel type claims.

The problem is, now get this if you can believe this, a babbling idiot of a sister calls the Management Office of the building I live in telling them "I never go visit my Brother."

This must a True Babbling Idiot in the truest sense of the Word. First of all, WHAT in tarnation does Rental Management have to do with me visiting my Brother? I live in a 400+ unit complex. Second of all I WAS visiting my Brother!

This is a mentally deranged individual beyond belief and beyond any reasonable doubt and I'm SURE everyone here would agree. Thank you for your time neener17.

On the same token the *other* mentally deranged sister who is even SICKER than this one tried to give me a role in a murder conspiracy plot to kill her husband, who she had an Order of Protection out on. I prompty reported her to local Homicide detectives and the last I heard she was sent ot the Crazyhouse.

Now you're saying I had the option of calling her Place of Employment to tell them she was involved in a murder conspiracy? That would be GREAT if I did under Total Immunity? :D

Did I?

What damages did you suffer because she told the management office of the building you live in that you never visit your brother? Did you lose your job, or your apartment? Did you get arrested?

What damages do you think she will suffer if you call her employer and accuse her of being involved in a murder conspiracy?

Minimal, I suppose. Just the unecessary "confrontation" with Management about being told they were contacted by this babbling albatross around my neck.

Termination possibly? You know what they say, "what's good for the goose is good for the gander."

I forgot to mention the adversary also contacted my employer with some of her usual incoherent babbling. I forgot what it was but again I receive another humiliating report from the mentally ill, harassing Albatross around my neck.

So you think that losing your job is comparable to a minor conversation with your apartment management?

You completely missed my point. This is NOT "sauce for the goose". The two situations are in no way comparable.

YOU are suffering no actual damages. What you propose to do in retaliation can end in some very real damages. For which, my friend, YOU could end up being sued for. And "she started it" will not go very far in your defense.
