i am from south carolina. i am confused about the law here regarding alienation of affection. i have been told that it was abolished in 1992, however, when i look up info on the internet, there is some conflicting info. is this a law in sc and also is there a law entitled "criminal conversation" and what exactly is it?

i began seeing someone who was seperated from his wife and had been for 5 months. we are very serious about one another but she is threatening me with alienation of affection. he had already bought his own home, had her refinance their marital residence in her name only and they had signed a seperation agreement, however, this agreement was never filed through the courts.

You'd be able to check the state laws from the State Law Center here.

I'd let her sue. She's probably bluffing.
