alimony advice Needed

What is the name of your state? Calif. where my divorce was.

My ex.husband stopped paying me alimony. What can I do? He is to be paying me for life or if I re-marry. I depend on that money to live on. He also stoped the insurence.

Is that all? No facts? Nothing about what your divorce decree states? How do you expect an answer if that's all you give us?

My Ex. Husband was to pay me on the 1st. and 15th. Court orderd it for each month.$600.every two week. I was suppost to get $1600. a month. "But" I settled for the $1200. Hunderd a month as long as he keep me on the Health insurence. That was our agreement. He stopped that. I need the health insurence. I have had many strokes Have a tummer in my head behind my left eye.Have to have it check every year. Just to made sure it's not any bigger. I know he's mad about having to pay. I have never worked and he wanted the divorce after 32 years. He was the one that agree about the money that I was to get because of my problems.

then you need to file a Motion to Show cause (re. alimony). You should be speaking with a family law attorney .

One thing that is not clear is are you questioning the fact that he stopped the Health Insurance or not paying the money or both? And is the 'agreement' to provide health insurance part of the court order?

I am up set over both, The health was our agreement was not in the divorce paper's. Just alimony . He called and asked me to take the $1200. Hundered and he would keep me on his health insurence. He said that there was no chance I could get it in the divorce. I needed it bad so I said OK. I didn't know what else to do at the time.
I will make a appointment with a lawyer . I was hopeing I didn't have too.
I thought with my divorce paper's. I could go to the distric attorney office. I was told I could by one person and another said no. I was not sure and I was trying to get a answer from some one that has gone threw this... It does say in my divorce paper if he is in atemp of court. Thats what he is now. He would have to pay court cost. If I have to take him back to court . I will see if I could get the mount that I was to get in the first place and then I could buy my own insurance. Thats what I should have done. I was not thinking at the time. Just to messed up and heart broken. Thanks again, Thanks for your help.

Then you are SOL and that's not a timeframe it's $hit out of luck.

So, he screwed you.

As for taking him back to court, you can but ONLY for the current arrearage in Alimony since the insurance is not part of the order.

Unless you had an attorney or other witness to this 'agreement' regarding the insurance, then it's a moot point.

I seen my lawyer last week. He sent him a letter and I got my check. I'm so glad. In my divorce paper it says he will pay for all court cost and my alimony fee's . I am glad that he add that on...
