What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

If my spouse makes considerably more than me during our marriage, does he/she pay alimony? something tells me its not that simple...

No, its not that simple at all...particularly in TX as TX is not fond of alimony. Plus, you had a short term marriage so any alimony, if somehow ordered, would be for the very short term.
