What is the name of your state?
OH
This is for a friend, but I think it's a no brainer.
She rented a crappy apartment. Made numerous facial repairs, tore up and replaced carpet, painted, etc.
A bathroom window panel fell out, she called landlord, not fixed before pipe burst. There has never been working electric in bedrooms, complained about from day 1.
Gas smell, supposed to be fix, not done properly.
Retaining wall by steps fell. Never fixed.
Anyway, she wrote a letter in Dec. giving land lord 30 days to repair or she will move out.
He did nothing in repairs.
(I recommended a call to the health department, but didn't call)
She moves out.
Landlord tries to sue for over $3,000 for the following 6 months rent.
Well, she ook pictures and letter and won, judge said nothing owed.
Well, today, the landlord sends a letter outlining what he still wants paid.
Is he nuts or am I?
A judge said she owes nothing, that's it , right?
Should she take this letter to the magistrate that heard the case?

How long has it been since the hearing?

Sounds like you got a judgment but landlord is having a hard time accepting it.

Keep it in the file with the rest of the papers on the court hearing, etc.

Do not answer his letter.

NOW if it is from an attorney or a court, do NOT ignore it.

No, it's only been about 2 or 3 weeks since the hearing.
It was small claims, no attorney's. In front of a magistrate.
This is a hand written letter on loose leaf paper.
