What is the name of your state? New Jersey

I was married for 20 years. I gave up my career 18 years ago to raise our family (working part time jobs all along). We have been separated for 20 months. I currently get $680 a month in child support. My personal income is under $20k a year. I am only working 30 hours/week (children's school hours) to save on the high cost of child care. My monthly expenses way outcome my income. I'd like to know what my chances are of getting any sort of alimony.

The worst thing you could do is NOT ask for spousal support. 20 years usually gets a pretty good share...including part of retirement income. Especially if your income is low.
