My husband recently died while on the job, after lifting a heavy object. He was 53,with no history of any illness.I know someone who is getting compensation, due to the same cicumstances. It took 2 years to recieve it.I would like to know what the laws are in my state(Tn.)I am disabled, and the loss of my husband And his paycheck, has affected me greatly. What options(if any) do i have? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,Peghuz

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

You have a possible wrongful death suit, or at least collecting on any of his life insurance, etc. You need an employment labor law attorney to help you.

Try to call your state bar association and ask to speak with someone in lawyer referral. Explain you cannot afford anything and ask if they have a legal aid telephone number or an employment labor law free organization or attorneys who are willing to put in some pro bono hours.
