What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?CO

About 2 months ago I sold about 30 things on Ebay. I did not carry stock, so when something sold I ordered it. Well the orders started piling up and some of them sold for under what i pay to get them. I had to go out fo town for a little bit, etc. Basically I never ordered or mailed the items. The average price was $60, some sold for $100. I only have $113 in my checking account right now, so I cannot order and mail them now. Most of the buyers already filed a complaint with Ebay. They either paid with a money order, personal check or bidpay. Everytime my doorbell rings, I freak thinking it is the police to arrest me. I know I screwed up and I am planning on mailing the items as soon as I have the money. I tried getting a loan and could not, so I am trying. Anway, this has made me sick and I need to know what can happen to me! I have used Ebay for years, and about a year ago, this women said she never got her item, which I did mail! So isn't this all a case of my word against the buyers? Could they really come arrest me? What should I do? Thanks for reading this!

Believe it or not the buyer's can get a copy of their money order that you signed and cashed. Be prepared when that sheriff shows up at your door to serve you with an arrest warrant for committing fraud. If you aren't willing to fork over your own money then drop shipping is not something for you. By the way what was your name?????? I was stiffed in a similar situation.

sounds like what you are doing is a very high risk thing.

You should have purchased the items with the $$ the buyers sent you right away.
Leaving money sit around is way too tempting to spend on something else, and now you're in a pickle.
You have entered into a legally binding agreement when you placed the ad on e-bay to sell your item.

You really need to make good on the sale quickly. The more time you allow to pass, the worse you are going to look, and the less the chances anyone will bid with you in the future.

I have no listed anything for sale since this all happened. My Ebay account is still open. I do not care about the bad feedback or anything. I just care about what to do. I need about $3000 in order to fix all this. I have no idea how I am supposed to come up with all that money.

I am just concerned something bad will happen to me. I want to make it right, I just cannot do so right now, because of the money.

Can anything happen to me? Can people really call the police and say "I bought something from Ebay and they never sent it, go arrest them!" That just does not sound right to me, cause then people would do it all the time!

If anyone knows of a website or loan company that would loan money, I could fix this. I applied for a loan but due to medical bills, my credit is not that good.

Thanks for the advice!!!

Yeah, and you should be treated just like any other thief who scams people by offering to sell something you don't have, taking their money, and then not delivering the item or refunding their money. That's called fraud. Over the internet it's called interstate fraud. That's getting into federal criminal jurisdiction. You'd better start talking to the devil because if you don't pay these people back you're going to find yourself in Hell anyway.

BTW: how did you manage to sell items at below your cost?

Look people come here for advice, not to be yelled at. By telling me I am going to go to hell and such, does not help me. I know I screwed up. I admit that! I am trying to find a way out of this mess!!! Telling me to make a deal with the devil and such is not offering me any advice.

I am going to send these items as soon as I can get the money together to send them, but in the meantime I posted to see what can happen to me.

I would not have posted this, if I did not think I screwed up!!!

This forum exists to help people, not to yell at them and say awful things! I feel bad enough every minute of every day! I do not need someone telling me to go to hell. I already feel like I am heading that way!

Like they said in 1st grade "If you do not have something nice to say, say nothing at all"

I am saying "If you do not have any advice for me, as to what can happen to me, please post nothing"

Thank you!

You were given advice already. Admitting you did something wrong doesn't take away the fact you committed a crime. Why don't you email the people you scammed and tell them your side of the story and see if they have any sympathy for you. In the mean time you better get a second job.

I think you need to notify your buyers as well as E-Bay and tell them you were irresponsible and spent the money. Be honest. From what I gather, you seem to be more worried about yourself. You seem to lack compassion for them. When you do things like this, (which was absolutely preventable) you not only commit fraud but you make things harder for reliable sellers. We want people to be placing their trust in E-Commerce. Things like this have a huge impact on that. The Internet Fraud Complaint Center, The Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau and many other organizations fight auction fraud, credit card fraud, identity theft and a whole slew of other crimes on a daily basis...sometimes by using task forces to educate consumers and other times by bringing suit against scammers.

You got yourself in a pickle but it seems the only thing you're concerned about is what will happen to you and how you can scrape up 3 grand. You've got a heck of a lot more thinking to do on the subject.

If you feel any remorse for what you did, you need to find a job and make it right. Let them know you messed up and that it might take a little time to get everyone paid back but you will do it. You need to lay it on the line with them and with E-Bay.

As an e-bay seller, I am dissapointed in how this is being handled.

You need to fess up ASAP - -

You should have used the funds to get the items to the buyers. Now you have to live with all the consequences that are dealt your way.
No doubt, the buyers will soon be marking your file as "item not received", if they have not already.

Your e-bay account is at risk of being closed
