What is the name of your state? London, England

Recently I sold a piece of computing equipment through Ebay. The seller made no request for postal insurance or signed delivery etc, so I posted the item as per normal as soon as I received payment. I received an email a while later asking why he had not yet received it. As this was well over a week after I had posted the item, I filled out a cmoplaints form at the Post Office website and waited. Now I am being told by the buyer that I must refund his money or he will take me to court. Now I am in a situation where nothing can be proved (I don't even remember which postbox I put it in!) and I do not know If I am legally due to reimburse him or if this is now a matter of no concern to me

Please advise if possible

Thanks.
