What is the name of your state?In South Dakota is a spouse responsible for her dead husband's medical bills? He had insurance and they paid 100% except for the excessive charges. I am getting collection letters addressed to me. Thankyou

You are not responsible for the debt but his estate is. If his estate was left to you, then yes, you can be held liable for the debts. I would suggest a consultation with a local probate attorney.
