Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but will I be legally responsible for my fiance's debt upon our marriage?

Can I be forced to pay $ he owes?

Yes, and no. You are not responsible for debt he incurred prior to your marriage. However, if your money is in the same bank account as his money, or if a lein is placed on property that you jointly own, you'll have a hard time straightening out the mess.
