Am I screwed??

I was working on the side as a listing assistant for someone listing items on Ebay. Basicaly they pay me a few dollars to list their item, they take care of all the shipping etc. They had their bank account added to my paypal account as well. So, someone would buy an item, pay through paypal, and the money would go into my paypal account. The money would then be transfered to the account of the person I was working for through paypal. But... someone returned an item to them, is owed a refund of $1000.00 and they havent refunded him his money yet. Its been over a month, can I sue these people in small claims court, do I have any case at all?? The problem is that it looks as if im the one who is holding the money, when it actually never went into my bank account. I have no idea what steps to take. Ive already battled with these people to refund the money and its gone nowhere. They keep telling me next week, next week...Anyone have any ideas??

That's a terrible arrangement!

If you want to be a listing agent, you get the tiem, list it, sell it, then ship it. If the buyer is happy, you then send money to the seller. The buyer and seller should have no direct contact. (Are you sure they are not working together?)

Can you sue, sure. You can be sure they will no longer use your services but it appears they are tryig to rip you off anyway.
