What is the name of your state? Michigan

Amazon sent me a digital camera and i hadn't done anything to get it. I received a gift receipt with the order, but the billing address was mine too. It was sent accidentally or something and they now want it back. They have said they won't release any of the information on how i was sent the camera, but they did say the seller tried to charge me for it. They told me i can't get anymore information because of a pending investigation. They put a hold on my account and so i told them im not giving it back because of how they treated me and their lack of communication. im just wondering what they can do to me to get the camera back. I know they can't charge my credit card for the camera without my approval, but im wondering what other steps can be taken.

Wow, the rate of people wanting something for nothing!

You didn't buy the camera, don't try to rationalize why you should get to keep it. Send it back before they take you to court. True, they might not follow through, but why take chances? Be honest. Send the camera back immediately or pay for it.

People like you are filling up this country and making me hate the USA.

Well, not that I think it's morally advisable, but Michigan, like most states, permit you to keep unsolicited gifts, which means you arguably own the camera now.

I can't get onto Westlaw, so someone with access please verify this statute is still in effect:
445.131 Unsolicited merchandise; rights of recipients.
No person, firm, partnership, association or corporation, or agent or employee thereof, in any manner, or by any means, shall offer for sale goods where the offer includes the voluntary and unsolicited sending of goods by mail or otherwise not actually ordered or requested by the recipient, either orally or in writing. The receipt of any such unsolicited goods shall be deemed for all purposes an unconditional gift to the recipient. The recipient may refuse to accept delivery of the goods, is not bound to return them to the sender, and may use or dispose of them in any manner he sees fit without any obligation on his part to the sender.

Either the OP is leaving a significant part of the story out of his post or someone tried to defraud him. His info was given to Amazon somehow which would preclude the unsolicited merchandise claim.
