What is the name of your state?CO

I was watching TV just now and there is an Amber alert because a Non-custodial parent took his child from a Custodial parent. It was the fathers(Non-custodial) parents time but the mother (custodial parent) didnt give the child to him for his time. The child was playing at her friends house, and the father went and picked her up. Now they have an amber alert. This doesnt seem fair.

When my ex wife didnt give me the kids I went to the police- they wouldnt even look at the court orders. But it is just me, or when a woman has something go wrong, the police/ court/ everyone will listen, and then do something about it.

They don't do Amber Alerts without reason and you don't know the facts behind the alert. We recently had one where a mother NCP took the children on a slow speed chase a La OJ and eventually ran out of gas and peacefully turned the children over to the waiting CPS workers, in another case a CP (mother)became despondent and disappeared with her child, they were reported missing, their bodies were found in the car parked on a quiet country road........

Dad goofed...big time, that wasn't the way to handle it.

Personally, I don't understand, during DAD's legal time of possession, why his picking up his own child from possession by a third party should be wrong. It is the third party who should have been denied possession during that period.

Well...there is probably more to the story. Obviously dad isn't easily locatible if the Amber Alert was issued. But I honestly do think that it was foolish to pull a snatch from a friend's house. There are better ways to deal with the issue.

I'm curious to know the whole story. I'm hoping Starbud will come back and link us up.

partial update

Funny how the story seems switched here as while I was listening to the cacellation of the amber alert, it said that the 14 year old girl had been located and that the assumed abductor was her 34 year old MOM.

not that I have any more helpful link than that, but it is interesting how we don't quite get all the info and can so easily jump to conclusions.

Regardless, at least the girl has been found and not in a horribly gruesome way.

important info for conversation from the link:

Police say Quincy Ross Clark was taken by her mother around 6 p.m. on Saturday. Kristen Clark lives out of state, and the courts have taken custody of her daughter, Quincy.

Recap:

So the father isn't even involved in this. Although it would be great if there was more info than this small link. At least we know!

I looked too and found that one...and assumed it wasn't the one that the OP was talking about....It doesn't mention anyone having custody other than the courts...or denied visitation or anything of that nature.
