What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

This should be a quick one.

I need to amend my petition and will file it next week. My question is, will this change the 6 month waiting period to the day she is served the new paperwork?

One other question
If she defaults and no alimony is requested, can she change that at a later date once the divorce is final?

She says she doesn't want anything now and I have our Son full time. I just don't want a 2nd party to influence her to do something that is not right.

Thanks.

Depends on the court order. If alimony orders are modifiable in your state (or if the judge orders that it is modifiable), then she can request a change later. If they are not modifiable (or the court orders that the order not be modifiable), then she can't.

Child support, OTOH, is almost always modifiable.
