What is the name of your state? IN

I was rear ended in 2016 and due to the whiplash I had to get more than two months of therapy and two injections on my neck that the effect started fading away after a year.

About 6 months ago the layer recommended to have a specialist doctor's review my neck situation. After examination and inspection of MRI and X-rays, the doctor suggested a surgery. I refused as I was concerned about the location of the surgery. I did some therapy afterward.

about two months ago the lawyer submitted the case to the other party insurance for settlement.

Today he sent me an email stating the other party's insurance was limited to $25,000, and that's the maximum he can go for!!!

I am meeting with him on Friday to go over this shocking update.

Any advice? or detail I have to asking about or pay attention to?

Thanks in advance.

If that is the limit of the insurance, that’s all the insurance company is ever going to pay.

If the driver has assets available, you could attempt to collect on a larger award. If the guy doesn’t have any money, the paper the judgment is written on makes a nice wall hanging.

Thank you guys for the reply.

How about my medical expenses? will those be included in that $25000?

It looked like I am screwed at the end of the day!!

Thanks again.

The lawyer gets his percentage, then your medical bills get paid (or your insurance gets reimbursed) then you get the rest.

Also If there is a chance to get additional money from policy, will that affect my insurance future payment?
Probably not. But if it does you're talking about hundreds when underinsured motorists coverage might pay you many thousands.

Call the claims department at your insurance company and find out what to do to start a claim for your underinsured motorists coverage.
