Ok everyone, life has been too good here. I went to the mail box today and guess what I found from the daughter's ex's gorilla attorney? Interrogatories. I need some help on this. I am of course spazzing and I can't think straight because everything in my daughter's life is going so well.

The cover letter states, "This is still an ongoing custody case. You will note that these are dur back at my office by January 2, 2001. If they have not been received by that time, we will have to have a court hearing for sanctions.

From the jist of the interrogatories, I believe that her ex has trumped up some story that her father has sexually abused her when she was younger (not true) and is using this ploy to state that the children are not safe with us.

Tell me, how specific do we have to be in these interrogatories? What is is that they look for? There are questions about job length and who is watching the children while she works. There is also a question about "have you ever spent the night away from the children while they were in your posession and control?" Sure she was in boot camp but other than that I can't think of many days she wasn't with her children.

What if she is in training and hasn't found a job yet? Does that look bad. She is a wonderful mother and I really detest this ex son in law. I hope INS rids us of him soon!

I of course am frightened and worried about this. I knew things were too quiet.

Any insights would be appreciated. Liable and Leagle B, I would like some info from you too please.

Always,
I hope you dont mind me giving a little advicce I was given for mine, although mine was for insurance purposes. If there is a way to answer plain and simple, yes or no.. have her do so.. Do not go into any lengthy replies, keep the replies short and to the point. No unnecessary details that could be used against her. Also, if there is any question that has no real answer.. then say so, have her explain that she cannot answer that as it has no basis.

Such as the one about the sexual abuse as a child.

That was what I was advised to do and it is working.. for the moment.

Thanks LadyB

That is pretty much what we all decided at dinner tonight. Say an answer without saying anything. That is great-there is no basis. Your reply is appreciated beyond belief!
