I came to the United States on 5.25.98 with my wife on a Honeymoon trip. (Married on 5.5.98). After 3 months she went back to India and I stayed here and got a work permit. In our religion Divorce is not considered good so we have decided to get an Annulment. Both our parents have agreed to this decision.
Now the Question is that I do not want to go back to India and we both want an annulment. So is it possible that I staying in the United Stated have an Annulment with my wife who is in India. We have no children.
1) Can she apply for annulment in India without me being there?
2) After the Annulment what will my Marital Status be?
3) Do I have to enter her name in the previous marriages section when filing in any kind of paper work?
