I now live in West Virginia and have for about 3 months. Before moving here we lived in Tn. for 6mos. My question is can a divorce or annulment be filed in the previous state?
I found out that my husband has lied to me about the number of times he was married before marriying me. So I would rather get an annulment if it is possible. We never stay anywhere long enough for the time that is required before you can file. This is another reason why I would like to see if I can file in Tn.

My response:

You can file in Tennessee because the 6 month residency requirement has been met. However, in order to file there, you must be living separate and apart for 2 years prior to filing for a dissolution of marriage.
