My nephew has been in jail for 2 years in a minimum NY State facility.
He was married weekend before he was incarcerated. His wife visited him for awhile and then became involved with a man who she is now living with. She maxed out his credit cards, even leased a car using his name and ss #. He wants to get an annulment or divorce. How does he go about this. Should he wait till he gets out (parole boards in July) or should he get it now? Any advice out there will be greatly appreciated. He's really a great guy 31 years old and wants to start over again when he hopefully gets out in July.

My response:

He goes about it by having someone arrange for a Family Law attorney go to the prison for a consultation with him, and potential representation - - that's how.

Obviously, someone's going to have to "foot the bill" for the consultation and representation.
