What's your opinion regarding governmental agencies, like ICE, promising to keep your identity a secrete when you make an anonymous tip to them? Do and would they keep your identity a secrete?

An anonymous tip is by definition lacking your identifying information....

(In other words, you don't give your name if you're making an anonymous tip)

As to the other poster's answer - I have absolutely no idea whatsoever what s/he is trying to say. It was nonsensical.

You would be honestly amazed at the number of crimes solved via anonymous tip.

The police will not spoil that... and will keep your identity secret.
