What is the name of your state? Vt..I do have another issue in my apartment. Ants! Hundreds of them. Since last winter I have complained about these ants. There are two types, small black ones and small red ones. The red ones bite. Anyways, They called in an exterminator for the first time this past month. The exterminator set bait to feed them. There were so many that swarmed the bait we were put up in a hotel with our two little ones for one night. We came home the next day to find no ants and ALL the bait taken, not even a residual was left. The extermiantor was shocked. Two days later we were swarmed again with ants looking for food, the exterminator came again and said this nest is HUGE under our apartment and they were coming up through the carpets and through the walls. They then put a clear gel pesticide along the entrances. Did nothing. They are coming back today while the kids are at school to spray along all the cracks and walls in every room, they told me this stuff is not airborn and kids would be fine in rooms once applied. What would be my next step to take with landlord if it doesnt work? This is really nasty. The ants are in the bathroom, bedrooms, living room, kitchen. The kids cannot even sit on floor to watch tv without being bitten. Thanks Faith

There's no such thing as a "safe" pesticide. The fact that the company has no been able to rid your place of the ants after multiple tries should tell you how good they are at their job.

Contact the health department and the building inspector in your area.

The guy came in yesterday and sprayed what he called a safe pesticide. He said it is not air born, and it was put into all the cracks along the baseeboards and areas the ants were coming in. Now there are dead ants everywhere. He said this would happen. He said not to clean the baseboard area for a couple of weeks, but could sweep up the dead ants. The bathroom has them too, near the tub. That is where they were also swarming out from under. It seems to be working, since I see no more ants crawling anywheres. There was no smell, and he said I did not need to cover anything like food, dishes, etc. If this does not work completely and I get them again, I am requesting for them to move us into another apartment in our complex if possible. If not I will take your advice in calling health dept. Thanks Faith
