I own/built a fan website for the LA based indie band Uh Huh Her and would like to open an online shop selling merchandise bearing the image/name of the band. The items wouldn't be official band merch or anything that they sell, more everyday items like key rings, flash drives, mousepads, etc that I will purchase and supply the graphics for. I'm told this falls somewhere under copyright or Intellectual Property Law. My question is do I need some form of legal authorization to do this? I don't want to break any laws or alienate the band by doing the wrong thing.
I would very much appreciate any advice or direction as to where to find the answer to this!
Cheers,
