How do I petition for a show cause hearing in Michigan?
My ex is in violation of the court order and Friend of the Court will not enforce it because it dose not have to do with her violating parenting time or support.
they told me I would have to petition for a show cause hearing for the order to be enforced. I can't afford a lawyer to have this done and I can't find any court forms to do this. Other states have them available but not Michigan we only have ones pertaning to support, custody and parenting time.
Also my ex filed two motions and never sent them to me. The court date is on May 1st. She dosen't know that I know about it, and I am going to go. But what can I do to prevent this from happening again?
any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have posted before and I haven't gotten any answers so I am trying again. I am desperatly in need of help.
Thanks.

I must admit that my first instinct is that you are withholding information.

If your issue with your ex is not about violation of custody, support, or parenting time, then what is your issue? I believe you can always file a complaint in the proper court jurisdiction without an attorney, and with minimal costs.

Your ex has filed two motions against you. With which court system? The Friend Of The Court must submit all motions and hearings to both known addresses of the Plaintiff and Defendant. How did you find out about them if you have not been served?

If she has 2 motions against you from another court jurisdiction, she must prove that you have been legally served via one of the legal methods.

However you found out about the May 1st court date may be enough validation for the judge to proceed with the motions your ex has filed against you.

Maybe too critical; just trying to understand.

this might help a little

:p File you paper work in proper Court from. You can use a draft of the other states paper work you need only turn it around to your state and district. And when you go to Court tell the Judge you were not properly servied and you would like to see the information stating you were served it will be in the Court file at any time you can take your state ID to the Court house and give the Court clerk your case # and she will pull the whole case out for you to see> also do it now and get copies of your motion (it will probolly cast $ 1.00 a page) and answer each and every allagation in the Motion. and file itthe day before you don't have a lot of time the st is in three days. fallow her paperwork proper form guide and you can do this. and go to this web sit if you choose www.help4dads.com I have herd they help out with forms and things I am a legal ast for Idaho you don't have a lot of time to dick around with this or you can also file a motion for more time and file a motion for in proper serving. Idaho is pretty easy for Pro Se stuff I am not sure about your State. And you have law libaries in your Court house with people that will help you. good Luck and hope it turns out good for you and the Kid
