What is the name of your state? WY

Last Tuesday, November 18, 2003 I purchased a 1989 Ford F250 XLT Lariat. When we test drove it, everythng seemed fine...Today, 6 days after purchase there is a "ticking" in the engine.

History: Purchased from Dealer that guarantees credit no matter what...Bought as is...financing for 18 months at $277+change.

Is there anything I can do? I hate to think about paying that much money for something that is ALREADY having engine noise. I can't afford to "waste" that money.

Please let me know what you think...

Thank you in advance

My response:

You bought a 14 year old vehicle, and you didn't expect problems with it?

Look, you have no recourse. You bought a vehicle without a warranty, and you failed to have the vehicle inspected by your own mechanic before you signed the contract.

Your answer is, "Caveat Emptor" - - "Let the buyer beware".

In other words, you bought a vehicle and you're out of luck.

Sure there is something you can do:

If the ticking is above the engine.....have a valve job.

If the ticking is below the engine....replace the clutchg.

And,

if the ticking is below the driver's seat.................................................................... .........................................................RUN LIKE HELL!!!!

Since your car is out of the warranty, you might want to see about the secret warranty option if any on your car
What in the hell are you talking about? Are you even reading these posts?

Show me ANY 14 year-old automobile with a warranty still in force and I'll buy the damn thing right now.

the only warranty for a used car this old is one given by the dealer from which it is purchased, and as this posted stated, there was none. He purchased it "AS IS".

Now what part of DUH don't you understand?
