Apart 10 years! No knowledge of HIS whereabouts!

My husband and I married in 1986 in Mobile, Alabama. He left us in 1991. No contact until 1997/1998. He has moved around for the entire 10 years he has been gone. His last known whereabouts is Arizona in March 2001, so says his father. I am in Alabama. Since I have been unable to locate him to have him served divorce papers, is there any other way I can proceed? A lawyer I spoke with once said I could place an article in the local newspaper looking for him & if there was no contact, then I could proceed with the divorce. Is this true?

Yes.. but it would be wise to speak futher with an attorney as to the exact procedure otherwise you will get nowhere fast.
