What is the name of your state? CA

Hi, many of us at my apartment complex received notices that we must remove, certain items from our balcony/patio areas. I currently have a kiddie pool that I use to let my dog go potty in. They also, told me that my pet has to remain indoors at all times, and cant' be on the balcony. He doesnt' bark just sits out there, and on the pet agreement it says nothing of the sort.

Anyhow, they said that they will add an additional $50 dollars to our rent if we do not remove the items asked by Monday, June 18th. Is this addendum legal and if they are to give us such notices is it okay for them to just hang it on our door where anyone can see or must they put it in our mail boxes?

Any advice or suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you in advance.

The timeframe to give revisions to your rental or lease agreeement should be spelled out in the agreement. The only people that can put anything in your mail box is the USPS, your landlord cannot place anything in the mail box. Hanging stuff on the door is a common method to give notice.
