MY FIRST YEAR IN THIS APARTMENT THEY RAISED MY RENT TWICE FOR 50.00 EACH TIME. ITS NOW FOUR MONTHS LATER AND I JUST GOT A NOTICE TO RAISE IT ANOTHER 100.00 STARTING IN APRIL. HOW MANY TIMES CAN A LANDLORD RAISE YOUR RENT IN A RENTED APARTMENT WITH NO LEASE AND DOES A MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF YOU HAVE A LEASE. NEED HELP IN CALIFORNIA.

You are a month to month tenant

and THAT MEANS EXACTLY WHAT IT MEANS

You renew your lease every 30 days, and the landlord can change the terms every 30 days, with a 30 day notice, and it is your choice to pay it or move.

Now dont you feel stupid being in California with the landlord's energy bills skyrocketing and you dont have a lease....Dont you read or watch the news?

That was dumb on your part...with a lease the landlord can only change the terms when it expires with a 30 day notice.
