Dear Experts,
May I please ask a question here related to common maintenance charges ? I am a member of a recently completed housing society which has not yet formed registered association. The residents formed an ad-hoc committee to engage an outsider group to provide maintenance services. Maintenance includes security, cleaning, AMC of lift, gym etc. The maintenance is fixed at 1.2/- + GST for more than 200 flats (each flat area min 500 sqft and max 1200 sqft).
The service provider is asking that each flat owner should pay GST @18% because the residents have not formed registered society. Can someone here advise if GST is applicable in this case ? Many thanks.
