What is the name of your state?Georgia-How do I find someone who can appraise a property that has no compairables. We have a historical home on 2 1/2 acres, pecan grove on 1/2 acre, also run a small business from this site. the city wants to purchase this property to create a new "downtown", along with several other properties. Our problem is we are the only resident, all other properties are business. the city has offered, want we feel is a very low price, in fact we would not be able to purchase another home with the price they offerd. With the home we have also built a large 2 car garage with office and half bath. The appraisal the city got was on residental homes sold within a few miles of ours, none of which are on potential commercial property. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You can do a search on Yahoo and get a whole list of appraisers with no problems. Look also at what the tax assesments of the other buildings similar in size age, and appeal as yours.
