What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Need NJ law for this question.
What is the timeline for a life insurance company in NJ, to pay a minor turned 18 beneficiary, after they request payment in a letter with a notary to be transferred to their bank account minus applicable transfer fees, when the claim had been processed and money held in an account by the insurance company for over a year?

Did you all have any prior communication with the company (perhaps by phone) to inquire about how this would be handled?

Who actually wrote/submitted the letter--the beneficiary, or someone acting on the beneficiary's behalf?
