What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

I am wondering if life insurance policies held with New York Life, Mutual of Omaha and
Hartford, are payable to non US residents assuming of course they meet the proof of identity and authentication procedures upon death?

I have life insurance policeis with all three.

1.New York Life (through AARP) asks for the name of the beneficiary and relationship only.

2. Mutual of Omaha asks for beneficiary name and relationship, and asks
if beneficiary is a US Citizen? If no, asks for Permanent resident (form I-551) card#
In my case beneficiaries are wife and child both of whom do not reside in the USA.
Daughter is a US citizen however, but only 2 yrs old.

3. Hartford asks only for beneficiary name and relationship.

This is NOT a legal issue. You need to contact each of the insurers and get their policy in WRITING.
